A Message from the State Commissioner and Board of Girl Guides WA

Update 29 May, 2020

It is very pleasing that the Premier has today announced further easing of restrictions relating to Covid-19.

As we move into Phase 3 of WA's Roadmap to Recovery, I am happy to announce that face-to-face Guiding will resume in the week beginning 15 June, 2020.

This timeframe will allow us to get important information out to Units in order to ensure we are Covid-19 safe and all necessary procedures are put in place.

We're very excited to be able to resume Girl Guide meetings and will have some more information for you during the next week.

Thank you for your ongoing support during the pandemic and for doing your part in protecting the community.

What is happening with membership fees?

We are a non-profit, member-based organisation. Without our members, Girl Guides does not exist! So we thank you, our members, for sticking with us during the COVID-19 pandemic and keeping Girl Guiding alive in WA.

All over WA, we've seen the Girl Guide spirit flourishing, whether it has been in the online meetings, the rainbow chalk-drawings, the drive-by Easter egg drops or the challenges girls have undertaken to complete a badge at home. In recognition of this awe-inspiring sense of community, the Board has made the decision to extend all members' annual membership by four months. There is no need for you to do anything. Your membership has automatically been extended for four months. If you've already received an invoice, you will soon receive a notice advising of a four month extension on payment due date.

This extension has been issued to show you how much we value your membership and in recognition that, for many, this is a time of financial strain.

We’ll be keeping you up to date via email, so please make sure we have your best contact details by logging into the database to update your profile. We hope you will also follow us on social media (search for Girl Guides WA).

Thank you for your continued support and understanding.

Yours in guiding,

Katrina Lane, State Commissioner
And the Girl Guides WA Board
