Trefoil Guild

"Once a Guide always a Guide!"

The Trefoil Guild is an adult section of Girl Guides to which the following can belong:

  • Women who hold or have held warrants or appointments within Girl Guides Australia
  • Women who have not previously been involved in Guiding but who are prepared to make the Guide Promise
  • Former members of member countries of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts now residing in Australia
  • Female current or former members of the Scouts Association
  • Active or retired female Support Group membership who have made the Guide Promise.

By joining the Trefoil Guild, members retain their membership of the Girl Guides in their State. With fun and fellowship they build support for Guiding, create an influence for good in the community, and through the spirit of the Guide Promise, contribute to a better understanding of people throughout the world.

The Trefoil Guild offers opportunities:

  • to widen horizons and friendships
  • to benefit from close associations with others in the fellowship of Guiding
  • to extend international contacts and
  • to give service to Guiding and the community.

Structure

Each Guild elects its own President, Secretary, and Treasurer. Plans their own program, decides on meeting times and places, and how best it can further their aims.

An annual fee is payable which covers membership to Girl Guides Western Australia (this includes insurances); administration of the State and Australian Trefoil Guild; and membership of the International Fellowship of Former Scouts and Guides (IFSG).  There may also be a fee payable to their Trefoil Guild.

Trefoil Members may wear 'Trefoil Guild Dress' which consists of a white blouse with a navy skirt or pants or informal dress. A Trefoil Guild scarf is generally worn as part of the 'Trefoil Guild Dress'.

There are opportunities to attend state and Australian Trefoil Guild Gatherings and members may enjoy a wider association in attending international events or tours.
