Cattle Stewarding at the Royal Show
Come and take part in the Royal Show’s Cattle Parade as a steward! Carry breed signs and flags in the parade around the main arena. Places are limited so get in quick!
Who can volunteer?
Volunteers are needed for Saturday 25 September and Monday 27 September only. We require 20 Guides and 2 Leaders per day. Guides must be aged
10 or over
.
How do I get my ticket?
As this is a COVID-safe event all Perth Royal Show tickets are electronic this year and you will be required to scan in. Tickets will not be sent or emailed to you! You will meet a Guide representative at Gate 1 at 12pm who will allocate your ticket to you at this time. You will need to provide your email address and phone number when completing the registration process. We will then walk to Cattle Walk Lane as a group. Please note that we will be leaving at
12.05pm sharp
and will not be able to wait for any latecomers.
What will you do?
You will represent our organisation by assisting in the Cattle Parade in the main arena at the Show. You will carry the signs and flags representing each breed. There will be cows in the arena with you being led by their owners, so you need to use your common sense and leave space between you and the animals, and keep your eyes open so you can move clear of any problems. Guide Leaders will be there to supervise and march in the parade. You need to be strong enough to hold up a flag or a sign so the crowd can see it. The parade itself only lasts a few minutes, but you will need to be available for around 90 minutes in total.
What will you wear?
Both Guides and Leaders will wear Guide Uniform (Guide shirt, navy bottoms, Guide cap/bucket hat and closed in shoes. Sashes are not required and can stay at home.
What happens after the parade?
Parents/Guardians who choose to attend the show can collect you from within the showgrounds at Cattle Walk Lane at 1.30pm. Otherwise Guides will be walked back to Gate 1 for collection outside of the showgrounds at 1.30pm.
You are welcome to use your free entry to enjoy the show, but
p
lease note
all children under the age of 16 must be supervised by a parent or guardian at all times while within the showgrounds
. This is a Perth Royal Show requirement.
Are there spare tickets for other family members?
Sorry, no. We only have tickets for the people volunteering in the parade each day.
